Batobus isn't a sightseeing cruise in the usual sense: it's a hop-on hop-off river shuttle, the only one of its kind on the Seine, with 9 stops near the city's major landmarks. Buy a 24- or 48-hour pass and use the boats as often as you like within that window, getting on and off at whichever stop suits your day.

Batobus runs 6 covered trimaran boats along a fixed route with 9 stops, functioning more like a river-based public transport line than a guided tour. It isn't included in the standard Navigo transport pass and runs independently of the RATP network; you need a separate Batobus pass to ride. A free audio guide app, available at the ticket office and downloadable on board, covers the landmarks visible from each stop in 5 languages.

The 9 stops connect a wide stretch of central Paris:

Eiffel Tower

Also close to the Quai Branly museums and Trocadéro.

Invalides

Near Napoleon's tomb and the ornate Pont Alexandre III.

Musée d'Orsay

The Impressionist museum, right on the riverbank.

Saint-Germain-des-Prés

The heart of the Left Bank's café and bookshop district.

Notre-Dame

On the Île de la Cité, a short walk from the Sainte-Chapelle.

Jardin des Plantes

Paris's botanical garden and natural history museum, in the 5th arrondissement.

Hôtel de Ville

Paris's city hall, close to the Marais district.

Louvre

Right by the museum's riverside entrance.

Place de la Concorde

At the foot of the Champs-Élysées.

Why Take the Batobus

Get on and off as many times as you like – Unlike a fixed sightseeing cruise, a Batobus pass lets you treat the river like a bus line, hopping off to visit a sight and catching a later boat onward.
9 stops covering both riverbanks – From the Eiffel Tower to the Jardin des Plantes, the route touches both the Left and Right Banks in a single loop.
Combine with Big Bus for a wider view – The Pass Duo Liberté pairs a Batobus pass with a Big Bus hop-on hop-off ticket, covering the river and the streets in one purchase.
Open-air deck – Beyond the covered main cabin, an open-air deck section lets you feel the river directly rather than viewing it through glass the whole way.

How It Works

Step 2
Board at any stop

Passes bought online can be activated and used starting from any of the 9 stops, not just the Eiffel Tower.

Step 3
Hop off wherever you like

Get off at any stop to visit the sight, then catch a later boat to continue, as many times as you like within your pass's validity window.

Step 4
Pass expires 24 or 48 hours after first use

The countdown starts the moment you board for the first time, during Batobus operating hours, not from the moment of purchase.

Every 25–40 min

Tips for Using Batobus

Buy online for a lower price

Both the 24-hour and 48-hour passes are cheaper booked online in advance than the standard rate; the annual pass and the school/group rate must be collected or booked in person.

Check if you qualify for a reduced fare

Holders of a Navigo, Imagine R, Intégrale, Emeraude, or Améthyste transport card, or a large-family card, get a discount on every pass type except the annual pass. These discounted passes are only available at a Batobus ticket booth, not online.

Bring only carry-on-sized luggage

Bags larger than 16 liters, other than small backpacks, handbags, and laptop bags, aren't allowed on board.

Where to Board

Treffpunkt: Port de la Bourdonnais, 75007 Paris, France (Eiffel Tower stop, one of 9 boarding points)

Passes can be activated at any of the 9 stops; there's no single fixed starting point. Staffed ticket booths are located at 7 of the 9 stops, listed above.
